In a surprising turn of events, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson were reported to have broken up over the weekend, calling off their engagement after a number of cancelled shows for the pop star. It is being said that Mac Miller's death had a major impact on the couple's decision to call it quits as it's been clear that Ari is showing signs of emotional distress. Neither Grande nor the comedian has commented on the split yet, which was most confusing because of the singer's appearance backstage at Saturday Night Live.
Ariana Grande was at SNL this past Saturday to support her then-fiance, and the two were reportedly kissing and hugging throughout the show. TMZ writes that they did not look like a couple that was about to go through a major breakup. For weeks since Mac's passing, Grande has apparently not been able to focus on her relationship with Pete, causing it to down-spiral until it reached this point. The publication writes that the former couple was trying to work on things for weeks but that they were essentially just going through the motions without any real emotions.
