Ari Lennox delivers impeccable styling and beautiful visuals for single "Up Late" from her new album.
At the start of the month, and just in time for her tour to begin, smooth songstress Ari Lennox dropped her remarkable debut album Shea Butter Baby which she previewed to fans by dropping her widely-popular J-Cole assisted, hit single of the same name, "Shea Butter Baby".
The Dreamville singer has seen a speedy rise to success, with fans picking up on the soulful influence of greats like Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, on her music. She manages to create her own unique vibe through the incorporation of neo-soul elements, and vocals dripping with emotion, into her tracks, making them sound as smooth as butter.
Her videos thus far have been a mirror to the fluidity and sensuality of her songs, and her latest visual release is no exception.
Last night the artist released a video to go with one of the standouts from the album, single "Up Late" which she released prior, as a teaser to her album. The track's smooth, jazzy vibes, and sultry lyrics are well accompanied by close-up and slow-motion shots of Lennox sensually dancing, surrounded by an open field. The video's natural location is contrasted with Lennox's styling: the singer is seen in several differing, and visually striking color-block outfits, matched with a rectangular backdrop of the same color. Zoom-out shots show the striking difference between the two backdrops, and close-ups of Ari skin-on-skin with a man reflect the intimate aura created by the track.
