Dreamville artists are preparing for the global takeover, but for right now two champions off of the roster link up on "Broke," as Ari Lennox gets help from J.I.D on her Shea Butter Baby single. The track struts a mellow groove that is beautifully accompanied by Lennox's soulful vocals. J.I.D then adds the perfect amount of pep as his speedy delivery jolts the track before Lennox returns with the hook.

Ibrahim Hamad, co-founder of Dreamville along with J.Cole, told Billboard that he knew there was something different about the singer years ago. “When I first met her in 2015, Ari wasn’t going with the norm for what R&B sounded like at the time. It all felt like it was completely her -- there was no acting or faking.” Interscope's Marketing Director Laura Carter is excited that Lennox is stepping into the spotlight.

“There is a bit of a long game you have to play in R&B," Carter said. "As Ari is developing and her story is coming out, we’re seeing momentum kick in. Older tracks, and those that came out as loose releases, are now getting the special attention they deserve.”

Quotable Lyrics

I don't know how many times I say it
Broke boy, bang bang, ain't got no bread
They ain't got no cheese
I been tryin' to fertilize your eggs
Moisturize your head, supervise the kids
