This morning, fans lined in wait outside the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. The legendary Aretha Franklin's funeral has officially begun, and TMZ reports that her open casket will be available for viewing for a few days. As such, lines are already beginning, with fans eager to pay their respects to the fallen icon. It is said that her body is being displayed alongside a lovely floral arrangement.

Not only have the fans turned out in abundance, but so to have her musical contemporaries. While the viewing is set to transpire both today and Wednesday, the memorial will be on Thursday, with the funeral itself taking place on Friday. TMZ originally reported a variety of performers lined up for the memorial, with twenty-four acts in total; Ron Brothers, Gladys Knight, and more are slated to make appearances. The funeral itself will feature performances from a variety of soul singers, including Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, and more.

Aretha Franklin passed away earlier this month at the age of 76. Rest in peace.
