Apple is officially gearing up to compete against major television and film streaming services this fall as they've officially announced their new subscription service.

Tim Cook introduced Apple TV+ earlier today at their Apple Event in San Francisco. Joined on stage with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodard, and Kumail Nanjiani, the CEO of Apple revealed that Apple TV+ will launch this fall and will be filled with original television content.

"TV is more than just entertainment, it’s cultural,” Cook said at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. “TV at its best enriches our lives and we can share it with people we love.”

Steven Spielberg revealed he would be reviving his Amazing Stories anthology while Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon shared details about their upcoming drama show, The Morning Show. Oprah closed things off by announcing that she partnered with Apple to produce to documentaries exclusively for Apple TV+. They have not announced the price for Apple TV+.

Cook also announced the redesigned Apple TV app which will give users the chance to subscribe to individual streaming services such as HBO Go. Users will also be able to use a feature called Apple TV Channels which enables subscribers to tune into television channels such as HBO, Showtime, Starz., CBS All Access, and Smithsonian Channel. The app will be available in May.
