Angel Haze says press coverage of her romantic relationship with Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland "sucks" because it depicts them as friends.
Angel Haze has been dating Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland for several months now, and though the'res been no shortage of press photographing them together, she thinks that the media is misjudging their relationship. In a new interview with The Independent, the rapper says she thinks the press, mostly American, is hesitant to call them a gay couple, and instead prefer to label them friends.
âI donât know if thereâs like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like weâre just friends hanging out,â she said. âItâs funny. Itâs rad in some ways, it sucks in others."
Especially on Haze's social media accounts, it's very clear that she and Baldwin are romantically linked, as she frequently posts pictures of them being physically intimate or text posts about her love for Baldwin.
âThere are still certain limitations for women,â Haze said. âIf we were two guys, itâd be insane, negatively insane with the attention. With us itâs all being very positive, the media are like, âOh theyâre so cute, theyâre best friends.'"
Speaking on the biracial nature of their relationship, she added, "An interracial gay couple, I mean thatâs just weird for America right now. We fuck and friends donât fuck. I have never fucked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesnât happen. But we do fuck and itâs crazy and thatâs weird to say because I think about it in terms of an audience reading it and them thinking, âWhat the hell?â But it happens.â
