Anderson .Paak is a man of many talents. Not only is he a virtuosic musician, talented behind the mic and on the drums in equal measure, but "Cheeky Andy" is an all-around amusing dude. Case in point, his ongoing Beats 1 show .Paak House Radio has showcased his impressive comedic timing, largely fueled by an infectious joie de vivre. Whether he's adding an "emo" spin to Juice WRLD's "Lucid Dreams," or prank calling his celebrity friends (Wale was last week's victim), .Paak knows his way around a good time.
Today, Anderson has decided to set his sights on the homie Dave Chappelle, pranking him like Bart Simpson in the days of yore. Ringing up Dave Chappelle, .Paak proceeds to hit the comedian with a strange proposition for an upcoming music video. "I'm in New York. I'm off the tequila," says .Paak. "I got so many ideas, man. I'm just like ... I had to call you soon as I thought about this sh- man. Something for the album, something I think that would be like, legendary sh*t, like Black Excellent sh*t."
Though Chappelle initially seems intrigued, his curiosity soon fades upon hearing .Paak's vision. "It's like all the icons, you know what I'm saying? All the n****as we fu*k with. You know what I'm saying? Legendary sh*t. All my n***s, like, Q-Tip, me. We in Harlem. We doing it all together. But we all standing together naked, you know what I'm saying? Just butt ass naked, no clothes, on some real sh*t."
Chappelle plays it cool. "Well, .Paak, I don't know if I'm ready to be naked in front of everybody," he retorts. "I got a 45 year old dick right here."
"No, no, no, no, that's what I'm saying," says .Paak. "That's why I need...I got all the older n***s towards the front, you know what I'm saying? And we got the young guys like Lil Uzi, like all the ... It's like, you know what I'm saying, how young they is? Like we gonna have it, we're gonna stand together on this sh*t!"
.Paak is met with a stunned silence. Eventually, Chappelle seems to process the request. "I probably wouldn't do that," he admits. "I don't know why they'll be naked. I'm not ready for that sh*t." Eventually, .Paak comes clean, and the laughter ensues. "You had me worried and shit, thinking, I was like, I don't know!" says a gleeful Chappelle.
