Jordan Brand has been slowly rolling out a series of sneakers with slightly altered color blocking, calling them the “Alternate Collection.” Each of the sneakers has taken an existing shoe and inverted some of the colors. The next up to release is the Air Jordan 2 from the “Alternate Collection.”

Inverting the traditionally white Air Jordan 2 to have an all black upper but keeping the red accent trim throughout, these kicks are much tougher looking than their original white counterparts. The pair also features a snakeskin pattern along the side panel and the classic Air Jordan crest (pre-Jumpman) on the tongue.

The Air Jordan 2 has traditionally been the runt of the family, so to speak. It lacks the iconic recognition and legacy of the Air Jordan I, and was the last Air Jordan created before legendary Tinker Hatfield came on board. However, with kicks like the Just Don x Air Jordan 2, the shoe may be getting new life in 2016.

The Air Jordan 2 ’87 Alternate will release this weekend on February 6. They will retail for $190 USD. Will you be copping?
