Not all that surprisingly, Charlotte, NC's AcidTrip describes himself as a psychedelic rapper. More specifically, he calls his style "ascension music." In that way, it's not that far off from the music of The Underachievers, who have been known to rap about an acid trip or two. The dark chords are reminiscent both of early Odd Future and Divine Council's ICYTWAT. Meanwhile, AT's voice is deep and textured, and his wordplay stream-of-consciousness but very tight in its execution. According to the rapper his "main focus is evolving and helping others to do the same." You can listen to his new EP LAZULi here.
