PREMIERE! Aaron Knight moves around Queens like a certified boss in the new video to his debut single, "OG." The video also comes with the premiere of Knight's debut EP, "When It Gets Knight Out."
Last month, Aaron Knight, a newcomer from Queens, confidently named his debut single, "OG." He definitely doesn't purvey the OG New York sound, as "OG" -- a dark and murky late-night blend of trap, R&B, and deep house -- feels young and fresh. There is something about his calm confidence, though, and the precision of his steady, melodic rhymes that is indicative of a veteran's attitude. Knight has now unveiled the new "OG" video, which is as ambitious as the song itself. With the new video, Knight has also released his debut EP, When It Gets Knight Out, which can be streamed below.
Taking place in his Sunnyside neighborhood, the "OG" video gives a detailed look at life on the streets he grew up on while also showing stylish shots of the Manhattan skyline that sits far into the distance. He hangs around many of the hood's OGs and attempts to mimic their tough but never bothered attitude. The camera makes use of different filtered effects that properly reflect the city's grittiness. The OGs will be proud if Knight continues to embark on his music career in such a careful, quality manner.
When It Gets Knight Out is made up of eight tracks, all of them new aside from the "OG" B-side, "Roll It." Tell us if you think any of the below tracks will match the success of "OG."
