A new report dives deep into Hernandez's life.

The Boston Globe recently launched a six-part series that dives into the life of former NFL player Aaron Hernandez. ESPN covered the story, which used thousands of court and government records, interviews, text messages, and e-mails that Hernandez sent and received while in a Massachusetts prison for murdering Odin Lloyd. Within the mountain of information, it was discovered that Hernandez was sexually abused as a child.

Jonathan Hernandez, Aaron's brother, told The Globe that Aaron admitted to being sexually molested as a young boy when he got older. One of Aaron’s lawyers, George Leontire, also claimed that Aaron had told him of the sexual abuse as a child. Neither man would volunteer the name of the person who assaulted Aaron. Jonathan also claims that their father, Dennis, had beaten both his sons regularly growing up. Some of the beatings could be attributed to Dennis' drinking.

Dennis SanSoucie, a childhood friend of Aaron's, also admitted to The Globe that he and the former New England Patriot would get high before and after practices. Smoking marijuana wasn't the only thing Aaron and Dennis enjoyed together though. SanSoucie claims that he and Aaron enjoyed a sexual relationship from time to time. “Me and him were very much into trying to hide what we were doing. We didn’t want people to know,” SanSoucie told The Globe. Aaron's father, a violent homophobe, wouldn't allow even the thought of homosexuality to enter his household, and Aaron was discouraged from partaking in anything his father deemed unmanly.
