Bradley Cooper makes his directorial debut.
For the third time in Hollywood history, A Star is Born is getting a remake. The musical drama has captivated audiences of different generations, and now Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are set to bring the tale back to theaters this Fall. Bradley Cooper will be making his directorial debut in the film, while also starring as Jackson Maine. Maine, who is a struggling country singer, meets Ally (Lady Gaga) and falls in love with her while helping her build her own singing career.
A new trailer for the film was released, and it features an appearance by Dave Chappelle in the opening scene, which was enough to make me sit and pay attention to the rest of the trailer. “I don’t sing my own songs. I just don’t feel comfortable… Almost every single person has told me they like the way I sounded but they didn’t like the way I look,” Ally tells Maine after he approaches her at a bar. “I think you’re beautiful," he responds, prompting a montage of scenes chronicling the ups and downs of relationships in the music industry.
A Star Is Born hits theaters on October 5. Check out the first trailer below.
