A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's debut album The Bigger Artist has debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 this week. According to Billboard, the album earned 67,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 10,000 of that figure sold traditionally. A Boogie's mixtapes have cracked the Billboard 200 in the past with Artist charting at No. 70 and TBA charting at No. 63.
Surprisingly, A Boogie outsold Miley Cyrus' new album Younger Now, which debuted at No. 5 with 45,000 album equivalent units. However, Cyrus' album did move a considerably larger number of traditional units at 33,000. By comparison, 2013's Bangerz debuted at No. 1 and sod 270,000 units traditionally.
Shania Twain's Now has debuted at No. 1 on the chart, moving 137,000 equivalent album units. A little further down is Post Malone's STONEY at no. 6 with 42,000 units and Lil Uzi Vert's Luv Is Rage 2 at 40,000 units.
A Boogie's debut was released through Atlantic Records. In a recent interview with Montreality, the Bronx rapper spoke of the various offers he received before putting his name in ink, as well as one idol he didn't hear from. "Diddy reached out, Khaled reached out, a lot of people reached out [...] I think the only person that hasn't reached out to try to sign me, when everybody was looking to sign me, was probably JAY-Z," he said. "I ain't feel no type of way, but I felt like, 'Damn,' because I always [dreamed] about something like that. That was just one of my goals. But after a while, I had to wake up and realize, 'Damn, I could become bigger than that, feel me.'"
