San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has reportedly signed a multi-year partnership with Jordan Brand. According to ESPN, an official announcement about the addition of Garoppolo and other newly signed Jordan Brand athletes is expected next week.

Garoppolo, 26, tells ESPN that it has been one of his dreams to sign with Jordan Brand ever since he got into the league. He grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and was a diehard Chicago sports fans with a basement full of Bulls, Bears and White Sox memorabilia, according to ESPN.

"Since I got in the league, it was one of my dreams to be with Jordan and it came true, so I'm pretty excited about it," Garoppolo told ESPN.

"I was pretty young, but even when they [the Bulls] were winning those championships, I can remember staying up with my three brothers, mom and dad -- we'd all be in the living room watching it," Garoppolo said. "It was so exciting. Ever since I was a little kid, he's been my favorite athlete, so it's pretty cool to be part of his brand now."

Garoppolo has been wearing Air Jordan 11 cleats as of late and, according to ESPN, "there's something new and special" planned for the Niners' season opener against the Minnesota Vikings on September 9.

In signing with Jordan Brand, Jimmy G joins a growing number of NFL players on Team Jordan that already includes Jets safety Jamal Adams, Ravens wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Lions WR Golden Tate, Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and free agent WR, Dez Bryant.
