Tupac was asked to audition for the role of a Jedi Master in "Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace".
Ah, what could've been...
As reported by the New York Daily News, it seems Tupac Shakur was invited to audition for the role of Mace Windu (Jedi Master Of The Jedi High Council) in Star Wars: Episode I. This was revealed by former Death Row Records' chief engineer Rick Clifford, who claims that 'Pac told him he "was supposed to read for George Lucas and them", and that Lucasfilm had "wanted [2Pac] to be a Jedi."
Lucas' production partner Rick McCallum started searching for cast and crew as early as April 1994, well before Tupac's untimely demise. In the end, the role went to Samuel L. Jackson, a consolation which obviously could've been much worse.
George Lucas has yet to comment. Can you imagine, though?
