It's been over a year since 21 Savage released his debut album, Issa. Although it wasn't met with the greatest reception, it propelled the rapper into mainstream light. As "Bank Account" dominated the airwaves, he dished out several heavy-hitting collaborations including his joint project with Offset and Metro Boomin', Without Warning as well as his chart-topping single with Post Malone, "Rockstar." However, over the past few weeks, he's been teasing a release date for his new album and it look like it'll be coming sooner rather than later.
21 Savage took to Twitter to tease his sophomore release. "It's about to get cold... Savage season!!!" he tweeted followed by five dagger emojis.
Back in August, the rapper teased an "Octember" release date for his new project. Although as we reach the half-way point of October, it feels like we might have to wait until next month unless he decides to drop closer to the one year anniversary of Without Warning. Earlier this month, he tweeted, " "1?.?6.18." Many fans speculated that the project will likely drop on October 26th or November 16th if he releases on a Friday, like most other releases.
In a cover story with XXL this year, 21 Savage revealed that he'll be "going back to gangsta" on his next album. Additionally, he revealed that his collaboration "wishlist" includes Rihanna, SZA, Beyonce and Pharrell. He was previously spotted in the studio with Pharrell a few months ago so it seems safe to assume that we could expect Pharrell on 21's next project.
