2 Chainz has come a long way. After all, this is a man who once referred to himself as Tity Boi, despite his lyrics heavily implying him to be an ass-man. In any case, the Atlanta icon is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the hip-hop hierarchy, having forged a long, successful, and lucrative career. Today, 2 Chainz took to Instagram to offer a little bit of perspective, taking things back to the years of 2004 and 2005, when he was a younger rapper looking to make wise investments.

"This was my second house and my first foreign,so this had to be 2004/2005," he writes, alongside a few throwback pictures of a simpler time. "Bought it brand new off the lot I put self employed on the paper work. I was making plays and had racks hanging out my pocket like yal be doin now !!! I used the photo with the Gucci shoe hanging out window for my first mixtape."

For those familiar with 2 Chainz's rise from the Disturbing Tha Peace roster into a tenured professor at T.R.U. University, stories of this nature go a long way in developing the mind behind the designer shades. Not to mention, 2 Chainz's latest post doubles as a motivational message of sorts, a reminder that the world remains our oyster no matter the circumstance. Check out the snaps below, and sound off -- were any of you rocking with Tity Boi back in the early days of his career?
