03 Greedo is treating the fans before he does his lengthy bid for gun and drug charges. The LA-based rapper entered a plea deal to reduce his sentence to 20 out of a possible 300 cumulative years. At the heart of his sentence was a routine "stop and frisk" where deputy agents recovered four pounds of methamphetamine and two stolen pistols in the trunk of his vehicle.
03 Greedo seems to have accepted his fate. In an announcement on twitter he promised his fans that enough material had been accrued to stand the test of time. "Plenty music will be released while I'm gone. Promise me you will love me forever," he joked while giving himself a pass for whatever misdeed "they" dropped on him.
"High Off Me" is essentially the first of those offerings before Greedo starts his bid. Yung Bans helps expound the idea that aphrodisiacs & rituals are only later fetishized when enough people rally around the idea. Greedo mystery subject "keeps asking if it's over?" as if a watercress salad was the only thing on the menu. Yung Bans is also guilty of being too "fucked up" to make logistical decisions, their romantic situations completely left open-ended.
