03 Greedo has played his last gig and will reportedly turn himself to authorities this afternoon to begin his lengthy prison sentence. Before he dons prison slacks, 03 Greedo wanted to leave the game on a memorable note, with a mixtape drop entitled God Level. The album is replete with songs he's shared in the last few months, as well a remix to his gamer anthem "Fortnite" with Rich the Kid.
The real standout moment on God Level occurs in the latter half of the record, on "Onna Way To The Paper" a summer slapper featuring Yhung T.O. of SOB x RBE fame. Yhung T.O. typically asked to perform melodically, or present a certain character or idea, is perfectly suited on a record which seems headed for BBQ playlists.
Vallejo rap, and Bay Area music for that matter, is unique and self-contained. In the interest of staying true to their musical inheritance, both Yhung T.O. and 03 Greedo deliver performance and production worthy of their predecessors. For obvious reasons, Yhung T.O. and his bandmates are trending in a fairly different direction, career-wise.
