Watch Every BET Awards 2016 Performance
Sunday night's BET Awards was one of the show's best iterations in years. Performers included Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Young Thug, Future, Bryson Tiller, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana, & Anderson. Paak -- and that doesn't even include any of the Prince tributes, which were bountiful and glorious. Sadly, the scheduled D'Angelo Prince tribute never came to pass. Otherwise, the show was nearly flawless.

For ten out of the 24 weeks of 2016 we've experienced thus far, Drake has held the top spot in our Top 100 tracks list. Similar to the streak VIEWS is currently enjoying at the top of the Billboard charts, Drizzy's dominance in our metric of streaming-and-viewing success is pretty astounding, especially considering the mixed reaction his new album received.
Top Tracks: June 6 - June 12
Let's face it, as far as high-profile tracks go, there's no way this week (or any week really) could have lived up to the seven days that preceded it. Drake, Kanye, Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Gucci Mane, Travi$ Scott, and Pusha T all joined forces with some combination of one another to make for the craziest batch of tracks we've seen in such a short span this year.
Documenting Mike WiLL Made-It's Incredible 2016 Run
Mike WiLL Made-It has gone from Atlanta's rap underground to working with the biggest pop stars in the business in only a few years time, and he's continued to look bigger even as he's seemingly hit the top. Now mentoring young artists like Rae Sremmurd, Mike is illustrating the difference between a beatmaker and a producer, always remaining attentive to every detail of how a song is constructed, and crafting songs alongside his collaborators rather than simply delivering his half of the music.

Do you ever get the feeling that hip hop's current class of elites is more of a group of superfriends than ever before? Let's play six degrees of separation with this week's top ten tracks-- the most momentous batch in recent memory. At the top we've got DJ Khaled, who's collaborated with more of rap's A- B- and C-listers in his career than arguably anyone else, and who's accompanied by Drake.

UPDATE: The "digital deluxe" version of LilDurk2x also includes a collab with Future entitled "Hated On Me." Those interested in going deluxe can pre-order the album here. Original text below:
Travis Scott Blasts 300 For Taking Down "Pick Up The Phone"
Travis Scott's new release "Pick Up the Phone" featuring Young Thug and Quavo was up on the rapper's SoundCloud page all of a few hours last night before it was taken down. Scott explained the force behind the song's removal in a Friday morning Twitter rang: Young Thug's label 300 Ent.
Lil Durk Shares "LilDurk2x" Artwork, Features & Release Date
LilDurk2x is another release that's been delayed, as it was originally set to drop on May 1. Due to the quality of his last couple of tracks, though, fans are still more than eager for a new Durk tape, and the OTF rapper is gonna make sure to provide them with a fresh batch of tunes for the summer season. Durk now promises that LilDurk2x will be out on June 24, and along with the release date, he also took the time to share the project's cover art -- showing his two sons -- as well as the guests who will appear on the tape.
Young Thug Teases "Gangster Shit" Single
Young Thug's official debut album, HiTunes, is hopefully on its way soon, but before we get that, the rapper has announced a new single on his Instagram. "Gangster Shit" is looking to be the Atlanta rapper's next release, and will feature production from frequent collaborator, Wheezy. Today, Thug shared the artwork for the album, which features a Chucky-esque doll complete with Thug's face tattoos.

Happy Memorial Day. The past week has been a wild one, what with the chaos at T.I.’s NYC show, Gucci Mane’s release from prison, and a new Kevin Gates tape. Summer’s officially here, so expect things to keep picking up in the rap game— we’ve got a ScHoolboy Q album, SremmLife 2, and a bunch of other heat on the way. On the top tracks side of things, there was quite a bit of turnover in our list this week, with only the bottom and top tracks from the last edition making return appearances.
Instagram Page Compares Young Thug To Priceless Works Of Art
A rapper who defies every convention, Young Thug served as the inspiration for the hottest Instagram account in the game: @YoungThugAsPaintings. The page puts photos of Young Thug alongside paintings that use a similar composition. Priceless works of art referenced in the account include paintings by some of the most famed painters of the last 500 years, including El Greco, Caravaggio, and Norman Rockwell.
Beast Mode: 6 Crazy Mixtape & Album Runs
These days, the line between mixtape and album is thinner than ever, and fans are fairly entitled when it comes to new music. As a result, we're seeing more and more projects being released in a shorter time frame, but there are only a select few who can impress both in terms of quantity and quality. The "run" is something a few artists have been praised for. It's generally a series of projects that mark an important creative spurt for an artist, and one that often creates something of a spectacle. With that being said, some "runs" get a lot of publicity, while some fly under the radar.
Days After Rodeo: A Travis Scott Timeline
It's been seven months since Travis Scott dropped his debut album Rodeo. His buzz grew steadily leading up to the album, and exponentially following the album's release. Of course, touring with Rihanna (on top of relationship rumors) didn't hurt, and Travis has also consistently kept his name in the blogosphere circle thanks to a stream of leaks (both unofficial and official).
10 Joint Projects That May Or May Not Come Out
For every Watch the Throne or What a Time to Be Alive, there are scores of joint hip hop projects borne of one epic late night in the studio that never crystallize into a fully formed release. As fans, we should know better than to let these glimmers of collaborative greatness get our hopes up. But the possibilities are too great to ignore.
Top Tracks: May 9 - May 15
In contrast with the first few months of 2015, when it seemed like our Top Tracks lists were just the same Kanye and Drake tracks rising and falling with each ensuing week, the past few editions have been utter chaos, with the #1 spot changing every week. Staying power is proving difficult to achieve in an increasingly crowded summer playing field-- Beyoncé and Birdman's chart-toppers from two and one week ago, respectively, are nowhere to be found this week, although a few of the lower-ranking tracks stuck it out.
Young Thug Reportedly Sued For Not Recording Promised Sweepstakes Verse
Young Thug had an agreement in place with hip hop merchandiser WeThePlugg.com in which he would add a verse to a song by the would-be winner of one of their promotional contests. Thug was given a $5,000 down payment and another $10,000 upon recording the collaboration. Only thing: he never recorded the collaboration. Now, according to TMZ, WeThePlugg is suing the 23-year-old rapper for $14,500 in damages.
15 Mixtapes That Deserve Grammys
Over the weekend, a petition surfaced that called for Grammy policy changes. The Change.org item argued retail albums should not be the only projects considered for awards, as there have been many important projects released for free over the last few years that were not eligible due to way they were released.
Top Tracks: May 2 - May 8
With VIEWS out in the world and disappointing the majority of those who heard it, there's now a new music void that many rushed to fill this past week as summer rapidly approaches. Desiigner's "Panda" and Drizzy's "One Dance" are still frontrunners for the "song of the summer" title, but there's plenty of time for new entries to rise and compete with them.
Who's Going On Tour? Spring/Summer Tour Round-Up
A lot of big artists are going on tour this spring and summer. You have mega-stars like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Drake. You have rising stars Anderson .Paak and Bas. You have established vets like Snoop Dogg, Maxwell, and Cam'Ron. And everybody in between. It looks like some legendary tours are going down towards the end of the calendar year. Gucci Mane & Friends tour is scheduled to go down when La Flare gets released from prison in September and Kanye West is also shooting to kick off his The Life of Pablo tour in September as well.
Young Thug Is Refreshingly Weird: A “HiTunes” Tour Review
Situated on the corner of 44th Street and Broadway in Times Square, Playstation Theater hosted the second stop of the “Hitunes” Tour on Monday night. I am 25 and I was probably the oldest person who journeyed to the theater (capacity: 2,100) to see Young Thug perform the Thugger songbook front-to-back. Also performing: Thug’s trusty opening act Lil Yachty, the upstart rapper best known best known for his red dreadlocks and rapping over the ice cream truck song and the Rugrats theme song.
