Young Thug Apologizes To Future For "Internet Arguments"
Atlanta's two leading men are back on good terms, and the city is thriving because of it. Tensions between Future and Young Thug flared -- perhaps a natural result of healthy competition -- about a year ago. The feud first caught the public's eye after Thug took issue with a tweet of Metro Boomin's that warned other rappers not to attempt to emulate Future's work ethic. A few days later, Metro confirmed that the squabble had been put to rest, and indeed, this year Thug and Future have proven not only to make amends but also to develop a strong rapport both in and out of the studio.
Stream Chance The Rapper's Magnificent Coloring Day Festival Featuring Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert & Young Thug
Chance The Rapper is throwing a pretty awesome festival in U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago today (Saturday, September 24th), and he's letting those who weren't able to attend a chance to watch from home. You'll need a Tidal subscription, but once you're in, you'll be able to watch all of the sets today, which include performances from Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, John Legend, Tyler, The Creator, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Skrillex, and of course Chance himself.
Future & Young Thug Cook Up Some Fire In The Studio
About a year ago, there existed some tension between Future and Young Thug. The feud was thankfully short-lived and, in reality, not too surprising considering that they stood as the top two artists in Atlanta at the time. Luckily, healthy competition seemed to be the diagnosis, and this year, Thug and Future -- still No. 1 and 2 in Atlanta (the order is very much up for dispute) -- have made amends and, as proven by a couple of new Instagram videos, reinvigorated their collaborative partnership.
Behind The Beat: Goose
When one hears “Goose wit another one,” expect to experience the full star quality of whatever rapper comes on the track. Goose has spent much of his young career alongside two particular stars, Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan, whom came to fame together as the duo known as Rich Gang, which dissolved in early 2015. Goose was there for most of Rich Gang’s regrettably short-lived takeover, assisting in the production of several songs on the Birdman-hosted tape, Tha Tour: Part 1, now hailed as a classic.
Young Thug's Fiancee Says There Will Not Be "Two Brides" At Wedding
Young Thug added yet another controversial moment to his growing list of them the other week, when a Billboard interview surfaced with the boundary-pushing rapper.
Ralo Explains How He Got Over His Beef With Young Thug
Listening to Ralo's new mixtape, Diary Of The Streets 2, you'd never assume that he and Young Thug had beef in the past. Not only does Thugger appear on multiple songs, but the two have a very similar vocal approach -- a high register snarl that gives them an instant chemistry on record. However, it took a mutual friend to get the two Atlanta rappers to see eye to eye, as Ralo explained in our recent interview.
Young Thug Becomes 1st Artist With 3 Top 5 Rap Albums In 2016
Young Thug has been prolific as ever this year, putting out a total of three projects, the latest being JEFFERY, released on Aug. 26. It's been unclear if Thug's labels (300 and Atlantic) have regarded any of the projects as proper "albums," but they have each been released commercially, and two of them have charted within the top 10 on the Billboard albums chart. JEFFERY recently made its debut at No. 8, racking up 37,000 in streaming equivalent album sales and 18,000 in pure albums in the week ending Sept. 1.
DJ Mustard Shares "Cold Summer" Tracklist, With YG, Young Thug, Meek Mill & More
Summer technically ends this month, but not for DJ Mustard. Some time during the month of September, Mustard will release a new project entitled Cold Summer. He announced the project and shared the cover art a week ago, and today, the chart-flooding producer has shared the Cold Summer tracklist.
Young Thug Says "There Will Be Two Brides" At His Wedding
Young Thug has worn many a dress throughout his career, but to do so on the cover of his latest album, JEFFERY, was a bold move. Indeed, that floor-length ruffled blue dress will likely be immortalized in hip-hop history. And that's not to mention the ornate rice hat he used to complete the getup. Erykah Badu said the look reminded her of a "certain ATLien," namely Andre 3000.
Lil Wayne & Young Thug: A Complete History
Young Thug has always cited Lil Wayne as his hero, but it hasn't stopped things from getting pretty weird between the two at times. Ever since Thug announced he was naming his album Tha Carter VI (later renamed Barter 6, but we'll get to that) and aligned himself with Birdman, there has been on-and-off tension between the two rappers. Things have certainly cooled down over the last little while, but it's been a wild ride, one that we've attempted to draw up in a timeline for you.
Charts Don't Lie: September 7
Despite three new albums occupying the top three spots, our hip hop faithful showed up strong on the Billboard charts this week.
Top Tracks: August 29 - September 4
The week before Labor Day brought us some nice late summer treats in the form of Travis Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, Isaiah Rashad's The Sun's Tirade, and Fabolous' Summertime Shootout 2. Of those, Scott's album was definitely the most feverishly anticipated, thanks to some delays as well as his substantial fanbase, and that popularity shows in this week's edition of Top Tracks. Scott leads the pack with three appearances, but oddly enough, none as a lead artist.
Young Thug Supports Lil Wayne: "I'm With U For Life"
Young Thug and Lil Wayne have shared a complicated relationship in the past, but early Monday morning Thug joined the chorus of rappers vocalizing support of Wayne after Wayne
Young Thug's "JEFFERY" Enters Billboard Chart At No. 8
The only notable hip-hop release making its debut on this week's chart is Young Thug's JEFFERY. Released on Aug. 26, the project sold a reported 37,000 equivalent album units (including streaming) in its first week; the pure album sales tally is 18,000. That performance lands JEFFERY at No. 8 on the new Billboard 200 albums chart.
Young Thug's "No, My Name Is Jeffery" (Review)
Some artists pay homage to their idols with covers albums, Young Thug does it with No, My Name Is Jeffery, an album that actually features two of the heroes he names, but not on the tracks named after them. The fact that Wyclef Jean and Gucci Mane are both on the album but don't appear on the tracks "Wyclef Jean" or "Guwop" describes Young Thug's songwriting style in a nutshell: he'll name tracks "Picacho" and "Quaterback," but he sure as hell won't devote more than one line to either Pokémon or football.

The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of August 2016
Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now. The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.

10 Quotable Lyrics From Young Thug's "JEFFERY" Mixtape
If you were to believe everything you read these days, you'd probably be under the impression that Young Thug is an indecipherable, "post-verbal" rapper. However, anyone who's spent time with Thug's music should know the man has a way with words, and not giving them the proper attention would be downright silly. We've picked out some of the most colorful, funny, and effective lines on Thugger's newest project, JEFFERY (selecting one passage from each track) to give you a sense of what you're missing out of if you've chosen not to engage with his lyrics.
Young Thug Responds To Erykah Badu's Andre 3000 Comparison
After a slight delay, Young Thug finally released Jeffery (or, No, My Name Is Jeffery) on Friday last week. The album has been dissected and debated across the internet, and we've seen a lot of Thugger's peers share their praise for the project, OGs and young'ns alike. Among the former category, Erykah Badu tweeted out quite the compliment for Jeffery.
