Young Nash (born Jacque Winn Nash II) July 5, 1992 is a Corpus Christi, Texas native rapper, now active in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) Nash started rapping at the age of 14 and began recording, producing, and editing all of his music at the age of 16. Nash released his first mixtape "The Jocness Mixtape Monster Vol. 1" in early 2011. With a high following and a considerable amount of credit recieved by his peers he released "Can You Smell What the Joc is Cooking" in August of the same year. Upon meeting with A&R representives he recieved the urge to do original beats so he recorded, produced, and edited the album "Pressure Makes Diamonds" all in the night of August 26, 2011. Young Nash represents the HAM Squad. A group of his closest friends who have talents in the production of rap music. Carlos Ste3zie takes the roll of multi media, doing everything from mixtape cover art to shooting music videos. TJ Battle is a rapper in and of himself, and Nash's older brother Caleb Davis is an advisor who helps with the publicity of Young Nash. Young Nash aspires to be the next Lil Wayne and one day have his own label with many artists and producers under him. Young Nash lists Tupac and Lil wayne as influences but looks up to Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, and J. Cole. "I think I sound like a cross between Tyga and Drake" Nash will say "I have a lot to give and I want to give it to the world"
