Young Thug, Desiigner and Fetty Wap are going to strut their stuff on the catwalk.
Fashion designer Philipp Plein is setting the stage for his fashion show tonight at the New York Public Library Monday. Special guest for the New York Fashion Week 2017 event include style-conscious rappers Young Thug, Desiigner and Fetty Wap.
Last Saturday, Plein and Fetty collaborated on the look the latter would wear at the show. The New York Times reported that the "Trap Queen" artist walked into Plein's studio with his crew to try on some clothes and do a photo shoot.
“We want you to look like a king,” Mr. Plein told Wap as he pulled out a long black-and-white fur coat covered with the Philipp Plein logo and skulls. “I call it the Rolls-Royce coat.”
Plein has styled for the rap world before. In fact, the German designer, who is a fan of aptly-named Harlem emcee Desiigner, often uses the word "lit" to approve outfits or fashion choices.
Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and "hot felon" Jeremy Meeks -- who built a modelling career after his mug shot went viral in 2014 -- will also walk the runway at the show Monday night.
"I'll bring my bling bling," Fetty Wap promised.
