There is a call for rappers to push the pause button on releasing new music for the time being, and two artists who have agreed to hold off on dropping records ar YG and ScHoolboy Q. YG took to Twitter to state that he planned on delivering a record next Friday, but he now feels the urge to wait so that he has more time to mourn Nipsey Hussle's death.
"I was dropping a Surprise album April 12th," YG wrote. "But man. Now that we gotta deal with Big bro goin to heaven I will not drop the album this month. Pushing it to May, Sorry! LONG LIVE @NipseyHussle my brother from the other color!"

After previously stating that he would grieve the loss of Nipsey privately, ScHoolboy Q released a series of video clips on his Instagram Story, stating that he, too, was pushing back his album's release date. "Y'all got the game f**ked up if you thnk I'm trying to put out music tomorrow," Q said. "I'm not putting out no f**kin' music tomorrow. It's not cool. I'm not wit it. Thank you to iHeartRadio for understanding that. I was told that it's...it was already in rotation...I don't know what the f**k goes on or how itworksd but I was never wit it [and] iHeart, I guess they understand it. They pulled it down, so thank you. To the blogs that posted it all earlier before we even posted it...I'm not putting nothing out this week. Like, no. Nobody should be putting out nothing this week."

He also said that maybe he'll release something next week, but right now it's not "pure" and it's not the way he does things. He mentioned having knots in his stomach all day about it and hopes that fans understand.
