Today, Xzibit, B-Real, and Demrick dropped up their new Serial Killers project, a seven-track EP titled Day Of The Dead. While generally darker in nature, "Fruit Punch" stands out as a breezy interlude of sorts; Michael Myers foregoing his bloody trail of carcasses in favor of a warmer climate. The end results make for a highlight cut, with all three parties showcasing a welcome dose of chemistry, sliding back and forth with minimal effort. In ways, "Fruit Punch" feels like a posse cut, with James Savage and Brevi holding it down with the assist.

Xzibit sets it off, taking to the whimsical woodwinds with his trademark aggression. "Comin' outside on you n***s, I'ma west-ride on you n***as," raps X, "Ima get the OGs and the BGs better find a place to hide cause we killers."  As a longtime X fan, it's nice to hear him once again blessing the mic, and bringing James Savage (formerly known as Jayo Felony) into the mix is a welcome surprise. Peep Day Of The Dead now, and vibe to one of the more immediate cuts now.

Quotable Lyrics

Comin' outside on you n***s, I'ma west-ride on you n***as,
Ima get the OGs and the BGs better find a place to hide cause we killers
In my habitats with gorillas, we can take it to the back we should kill him
