Rapper Troy Ave has been involved in hip-hop for some time, with mixtapes dating back to 2009. But the New York native only released his first album, New York City: The Album, last year.
Brought up in Brooklyn, his rap name is taken from the block that he lived on. Troy Ave was inspired to start rapping after seeing the success of 50 Cent. He has already dropped 11 mixtapes and worked with the likes of Tony Yayo, Pusha T, and Raekwon. Named part of the 2014 XXL Freshman Class, Troy Ave is truly tipped for big things.
