Among all the stories that haven’t been revived by Hollywood, King Arthur is one we thought we’d get a long time ago. There was the King Arthur film from 2004, but doesn’t anyone actually remember that one? Hopefully King Arthur: Legend of the Sword can avoid the same fate, and judging by the trailer it has an okay chance.
Riding on the charisma of star Charlie Hunnam (of Sons of Anarchy), everything in the film looks to be laced with action and over-the-top CGI. The movie will tell a hardscrabble version of the legendary tale, with Arthur as a poor street kid with unknown royal blood. Eventually, he comes across a certain sword and, well, you know the rest.
King Arthur is directed by Guy Ritchie and also stars Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou. Is the “Lord of the Rings on steroids” trailer enough to get you into theaters for this one?
