On April 12, 25-year-old Freddie Gray was arrested in Baltimore for possession of a switchblade, though it's still not clear why he was pursued in the first place. Police claim Gray was apprehended without force, though bystanders have suggested otherwise, and video evidence shows Gray screaming while being forced into the police's van. What happened next is still being investigated, though by the time Gray arrived at the police station, he was unresponsive, unable to talk or breathe.

Waka Flocka's debut album, Flockaveli, dropped in 2010, and its influence is still felt immensely in rap today. With the official sequel on the way, it's important for Waka to produce something just as special for his fans. In an exclusive interview with HNHH, Flocka spoke of his approach to the sequel, which he wants to do in a similar style to the debut-- namely, only working with those in his close circle.

Rappers Share Their Smoking Preferences For 4/20 Apr 20, 2015 at 12:53pm
Today may not be a government-mandated holiday, but for those who advocate a green lifestyle, it's just as important as any other statutory holiday. Rap music has a special niche for all the weed smokers out there, however it's really transcended that niche genre and has become pretty common-place. Every other song has a reference (or three) about lighting up/rolling up/smoking up. It's safe to say we don't need a reason to smoke, but hey, we'll take one.

With the evolution of producer software, everyone can make beats on their computer. It doesn't take a lot of money or studio time to learn how to chop up samples, loop drum patterns, and create something great. And we're finding more and more beatmakers are making quality tracks.

Is There A Waka Flocka Sex Tape? [Update: It Was A Prank] Apr 2, 2015 at 04:13pm
It looks like Waka Flocka might be the latest victim of an nonconsent sex tape scandal. On Tuesday afternoon a PornHub user uploaded a photo (NSFW link obviously) that shows Waka Flocka getting head from a woman in a green thong. While we all know the internet likes to play jokes (and tomorrow is April Fools after all), this looks to be the real deal.

If you've been following Waka Flocka since the "O Let's Do It" days, you probably have a certain amount of nostalgia toward his Salute Me Or Shoot Me mixtape series. The most recent installment came way back in 2012, so we've been well due for a follow-up, but the wait is finally over.
Nardwuar's 5 Most Memorable Interviews
Nardwuar's 5 Most Memorable Interviews Mar 24, 2015 at 07:48pm
As Drake said after he concluded his first interview with Nardwuar, a Canadian man who rocks a tartan hat and calls himself the "Human Serviette," "this guy is a legend." There's really no better way to put it: this guy's interviewed everyone from Nirvana to N*E*R*D, and always seems to unearth facts that no other interviewer in the game can. His earnest personality can throw some artists for a loop, but it doesn't take long to realize that despite the quirks, this man is one of the best in the business.

Footage of members of the SAE fraternity of the University Of Oklahoma gleefully performing a racist chant has gone viral today, and obviously people are pretty upset. Protests have broken out on the University grounds, where they've been joined by media documenting the scene.  While many have spoken out on the disturbing nature of the video, Waka Flocka is the first member of the rap world to give his thoughts on the situation, calling the act "disgusting" on Instagram, and announcing that he would be cancelling his show at the university in protest.

Last year, Waka Flocka Flame seemed to be more focused on bar-for-bar lyricism than bellowing on top of gargantuan trap beats, releasing the ironically-titled I Can't Rap Vol. 1 last summer as a culmination of a freestyle series.

The GuWop Effect: A History Of Gucci Mane's Co-Signs Feb 9, 2015 at 05:38pm
Gucci Mane has been sculpting talent, and promoting new artists since the beginning his career, but it's only over the last couple of years that he's been recognized as a great A&R. Part of that is because following his most recent incarceration in September 2013, we saw many of the young artists he was working with at the time earn Atlanta the title of rap's most exciting city once again.

Big Homie Flock has been consistently releasing new and increasingly varied material since, but he always promised he'd get back to his punishing beginnings on Flockaveli 2.

With the announcement of the title of his upcoming EDM album, Waka Flocka has joined in on the trend, designating himself the Turn Up God.
