When we first posted Villa, it was a definite departure from most of the sounds coming out of Atlanta. With his new track “Fixation,” the new-school R&B artist takes his futuristic sound even further into outer space with the help of Richie Souf and Rome Fortune.
The vocals are half-sung, half-rapped, and the choruses refrain of “lemme get my fix” earworms its way into your brain and refuses to leave. Richie Souf’s sparse production is made up of just a few 808s and a slowed down sample. No autotune to be found here either.
Villa is clearly pushing toward something, because he also dropped “Something Special” today.
