Sometimes the power of putting a man in prison isn't enough for a judge. For Judge John McBain of Michigan, you may have to face his judicial wrath, and that of his choke hold.
Video surveillance footage has been released of a courtroom scuffle between a defendant and bailiff, and a third party fighter, Judge John McBain himself. The defendant Jacob Larson had been consistently mouthing off at McBain, aptly getting in his head. McBain responds by upping the ante, increasing the amount of time Larson will be sent to prison. The scene is rather ludicrous even before the scuffle, as their back-and-forth begins to resemble a certain scene from the film "The Breakfast Club."
Eventually the fight breaks out, the judge takes off his robe, and we won't ruin the surprise. All we'll tell you is don't mess with McBain.
Judge McBain, a notoriously emotional man of the law, has previously been in the media for telling a woman he was convicting of murder that he hope she dies in prison. Fortunately the incident dealt with here is a bit more lighthearted. Do you think McBain was justified in joining the scuffle?
