It's been a dark week, but Victoria Monet and Ariana Grande are hoping for a brighter future on their new collaboration, dedicating the track to Alton Sterling and Philando Castile two black men unjustly killed by police officers within the span of two days. "Better Days" finds the two R&B singers looking at the violence in America, and calling for change. Both artists shared some thoughts on Instagram, with Grande sharing condolences both for the victims of police brutality and the 5 cops killed in Dallas shooting Friday night. Read an excerpt of her message below.

Rest in peace #PhilandoCastile #BlackLivesMatter. And the police that were peacefully guarding the #BlackLivesMatter rally in Dallas…. Rest in peace. #LorneAhrens, #MichaelKrol, #MichaelJSmith, #BrentThompson & #PatrickZamarripa. Stay strong and know that better days are coming…

It's safe to say that many are looking for better days in the future, but there's much work to be done in the meantime. You can donate to Alton Sterling's family here, and Philando Castile's here.

Quotable Lyrics:
I can hear the sirens right outside our window
And I can hear the children crying while their mothers cry
I'm praying for the people right outside our window
Hoping they find peace at night, just like you and me
