Vic Mensa has shared a harrowing music video to "16 Shots," a song that appeared on his June EP, There's Alot Going On. "16 Shots" is a protest song in response to the Chicago police killing of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. The title refers to the number of times McDonald was shot. Mensa presented the new video during the Justice for Laquan Rally! in Chicago's Millennium Park tonight, and he has now made it available for streaming, exclusively via TIDAL.

Vic Mensa Imagines Himself As A Superhero
Vic Mensa is the latest guest on Mass Appeal's "Super..." series. Earlier this year, we learned that Kendrick Lamar would name himself "Hard Body" and that his superpower would be "straight love." Mensa's character isn't quite as altruistic, as he says the main superpower of "Light Bright" would be to shine extremely brightly. He then throws invisibility and teleportation into the mix.

After sharing the trailer yesterday, The FADER shares new Vic Mensa mini-doc Down to Start a Riot in its entirety. The doc follows Mensa as he walks through the Hyde Park section of Chicago, chills with the Save Money crew, and spits an a capella verse on a deserted subway platform. It also features interviews from such Mensa associates as Joey Purp and Towkio. "He really did what he always knew he was going to do," said his childhood friend Steven Ponce. "Like, damn, this guy is really about to change his life."
