Ab-Soul & JMSN- You’re Gone
This was anextremely pleasant surprise last night. Ab-Soul and JMSN have mentioned their collaboalbum, Unit 6, they’ve said it’sdropping in February, but we’ve yet to hear something off it. And fans of eitherartist were anticipating it, at least I know I was. JMSN is a dope producer and he lends somevocals on this first leak, “You’re Gone.” This track is a little bit ignorantand still so illy. I know I can’t wait for Unit6 to drop.
Whenever Ihear new Atmosphere is dropping I get really excited. And even though this cutkinda fell short in comparison to my most-favorite records from Slug and Ant,in comparison to most rap, it’s pretty good. I want some more classicAtmosphere though, and I’m hoping the duo are still gunna make another LP inthe near future. I could also do without all these features, but hey, some Slugis better than none.
Johnny Polygon- Vacation Suicide
It’s beenan extremely long minute, or maybe two minutes, since I’ve heard something newfrom Johnny Polygon. I used to really enjoy some of his stuff, even if he getsa bit corny sometimes. Anyways he’s working on a new album, The Nothing, which will be his firstproject in two years. This was the first single off it, and it sounds like theJohnny Polygon I knew and sorta loved, only slightly more updated beat-wise.
JMSN - Make It Last (Prod. by Ta-Ku)
This was just some different ish than the everyday rap you hear on HNHH. It lives on Australian producer Ta-Ku’s new EP of the same name (Make It Last) which actually dropped yesterday. I checked out the other songs on the EP and if you’re feeling this song you should definitely check it out. The producer does some impressive mashes and remixes creating new and dope listening experiences.
Brother Ali- Nardwuar
It’s random coincidencethat two artists (Brother Ali & JMSN) are featured on here twice this week. Brother Ali just seems like such a nice guy. Hemade this joint after doing an interview with another dude who seems extremelynice (albeit weird) Nardwuar, and dedicated to him. It's kinda jokes.
HNHH's "Underrated Audio" puts you on not-too-mainstream music you might have missed from the past week
This week we got some new Ab-Soul and JMSN, actually our first real taste of the duo working together, and it was quite well-received. The rapper and singer/producer have a collaborative album dropping in February, which is the only album I really am looking forward to in the pipeline of winter releases...It doesn't really seem like there are many dope LPs to get us through the winter so let's hope what does drop is that much doper otherwise we'll have a pretty shitty winter. I guess we can survive off mixtape music though.
