Snak The Ripper- Karma
Snak The Ripper is Canadian rapper native to Vancouver, BC, who made his HNHH debut this past week with the track “Karma.” It’s definitely a good introduction to the rapper, and showcases his distinct raspy voice, hopefully making you want to quickly Google everything else he’s done. Somewhat soulful production from the Audible Doctor doesn’t hurt either, while Snak details his youth in a story-telling manner.
Rome Fortune- Get That Feat. PeeWee Longway (Prod. By Dun Deal)
With each leak off Rome Fortune’s Drives, Thighs & Lies, we’re anticipating the project more and more (which is probably the plan). The most recent one we were hit with this past week, “Get That”, features PeeWee Longway, who continues to step out as an artist in his own right and outside of the Bricksquad shadow he was lingering in for so long. Dun Deal once again comes through with a low-key synth banger for Rome, perfect for his laid-back flow (which he can speed up if he so chooses, as we hear on the record).
King Chip- We Faded (Remix)
Chip Tha Ripper aka King Chip these days hit us with an appropriate record for 4/20, “We Faded”, which was his own version of the ever-popular “We Made It” instrumental. Chip has been pretty quiet in recent times, but hopefully this new mix means he’s been silently working (and hopefully we can expect more in the future). Still no word on his debut album CleveLAfornia, but we’re waiting.
ZMoney- Jug N Finesse Feat. Danny Brown
ZMoney is one to watch in 2014. After gaining some buzz with his Rich B4 Rap mixtape last summer, he’s looking to double that buzz this summer with the upcoming release of The Greatest Trap Show On Earth. He’s started off strong with this cut, “Jug N Finesse”, enlisting Danny Brown for a verse over some drill, key-driven production from JNeal. The tape drops on May 2nd.
HNHH's "Underrated Audio" puts you on not-too-mainstream music you might have missed from the past week.
Underrated Audio aims to provide you with some dope looks from the last seven days, that flew under most peoples' radars. While they may have received front-page placement on HNHH, they didn't get as many views as they deserve, so we shine a little more light on them right here.
This week we've highlighted four different records, from four different slept-on MCs. One is Canadian, while the rest reside in the U.S. Each have a big project on the way, so you should definitely be keeping your eyes on these dudes: Snak The Ripper, Rome Fortune, King Chip and ZMoney.
