U-God, one of the founding members of Wu-Tang Clan, has launched a lawsuit against the group. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the rapper feels he has been cut out of royalties he is entitled to from his 170 songs recorded with Wu.
The papers claim that U-God has not received the proper royalties from the 12 Wu albums for "at least" 6 years. On top of that, he says that his contract entitles him to bi-annual payments from Wu Merch. Plus, there's the Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album that was sold to evil pharmabro Martin Shkreli for $2 million, which U-God claims he has not seen any money from.
U-God is mainly holding RZA and his brother Mitchell Diggs accountable for the unpaid royalties, and is looking to be reimbursed for $2.5 million.
