According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tyler, the Creator just inked a lucrative TV deal with Sony Picture which will see him produce a bunch of digital projects with his business partner Lionel Boyce. He and Boyce, who run Bald Face Productions, are being asked to produce both unscripted and scripted works for Sony, under the terms of the contract.
"To be partnering with the creative genius of Tyler, the Creator, and Lionel Boyce is a dream come true for us as we’ve long been fans of their work," Sony Pictures Television president Jeff Frost said Wednesday in a press release announcing the partnership. "Tyler’s unconventional ingenuity is unparalleled, and we are excited about the prospect of what we can create together."
All Tyler's other TV productions have been released under the Adult Swim banner: The Jellies! which follows the shocking aftermath of a 16-year-old coming to grips with the fact that he was adopted by a pack of anthropomorphic jellyfish. The other series Tyler, the Creator produced with the help Lionel Boyce aka L-Boy, and the rest of the Odd Future roster (minus Frank) is Loiter Squad, the most famous of his unscripted works. Tyler's creative boom is in full swing.
