Afropunk Festival has made major expansions since its inception in 2005. What started in Brooklyn has expanded into other festivals in not only America, but Paris and London as well. Today, they've announced their line-ups for Brooklyn and Atlanta and it's safe to say it looks lit.

Afropunk Fest Brooklyn festival will take place August 25th to 26th at the Commodore Barry Park with Tyler, The Creator, Miguel & Erykah Badu set as the headliners. Other performers include Janelle Monae, The Internet, Jaden and Willow Smith, Smino, Denzel Curry, Lion Babe, Trash Talk and more.

In addition to their Brooklyn Festival, the Atlanta edition is looking pretty lit as well. For anyone in attendance, expect performances from N.E.R.D, The Internet, Little Simz, Noname and more. The ATL shows will take place on October 13th to 14th at Atlanta's 787 Windsor complex.

This year's festival is based on the theme of "The People Resist." The fest's organizers shared a statement about this year's theme.

"This resistance is not new!," it reads, " We, the people who have lived under the thumb of white supremacy, gender, inequality, homophobia, environmental rape and economic apartheid have always known that when the world is an outrage, the sensible thing to do is defy it."

Keep your eyes peeled for more details on the event and peep the line-up flyers below.
