Ty Dolla $ign Interview With Angie Martinez

Ty Dolla $ign reveals "Free TC" will have plenty of live instrumentation and he also reveals a few features.

Ty Dolla $ign visited Power 105.1 to have a conversation with Angie Martinez about his forthcoming album, Free TC, due out on November 13th.

The highly anticipated debut album was named after Ty's younger brother, TC, who the singer says has been locked up for eight years on a murder he didn't actually commit. Ty says they gave him life in prison, but he's hoping to change that.

Ty also speaks about his 10-year old daughter, and teaching himself various instruments (except brass ones, he says)-- he reveals he actually paid out of his own pocket to have Benjamin Wright come in and do strings for the album. There will be a lot of live instrumentation on the LP; it sounds pretty exciting. In addition to Benjamin Wright (who worked on Thriller and Future Sex/Love Sounds), Ty reveals he brought in Brandy, Jagged Edge and more to put vocals on his album. In terms of legit features, Ty names Wiz Khalifa, E-40, Trey Songz, Kendrick Lamar, YG and more.
