Two Women Arrested On $150K Bond After Giving Kids Hits From A Blunt

A Facebook posting leads to the arrest of two women in North Carolina on charges of child abuse.

Two women in Winston-Salem, North Carolina were arrested for giving three young children hits from a mystery blunt. According to local police the blunt wrapper may have contained an illicit drug. Michaela Mary Elizabeth Pearson, 21, and Candice Jasmine Little, 18, were called into questioning after several local residents flagged a  Facebook video they had posted depicting the illicit acts.

The two women are being charged with felony child abuse and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Winston-Salem police issued a $150,000 bond for each woman being held in contempt of the law. Officers worked in tandem with Child Protective Services to make the arrest at University Inn & Suites, 2115 Peters Creek Parkway, at 9:30 pm Tuesday, the police seizing the women and thrusting them into handcuffs, child services with a warrant of protective custody for the children placed in "harm's way."

As a precautionary measure, all three children were taken to an nearby hospital were they received medical treatment. A third person, not present in the Facebook posting was arrested as well, and is only subject to a $2,000 bond. Winston-Salem police have decided against releasing a clear image of the suspected individuals, as they consider the investigation an ongoing affair.
