We got an extra day of February this year, and while there aren't quite as many brand new tracks on that week's top ten list as the one that preceded it, we still got over 50% turnover.

UPDATE (3/6/16 2:27am) Troy has deleted his Instagram post, though you can see the attached "Revenge of the Nerds" meme in the above gallery.  UPDATE: And just like that, Troy Ave has responded with a lengthy Instagram post of his own as well as a meme that shows Joey photoshopped into a poster for the film "Revenge of the Nerds." The meme is a reference to a line on Troy's new diss track, "Bad Ass": "If it really was the '90s, you'll be titled as a herb / If ya movie was biography, 'Revenge of the Nerds.'"

Royce Da 5'9" To Troy Ave: "You Owe Capital STEEZ's Family An Apology" Mar 4, 2016 at 05:21pm
The hip hop community is still debating whether or not Troy Ave took it too far by dissing the late Capital STEEZ on his diss record against Joey Bada$$. While Joey hasn’t responded on record, a few people in the hip hop community have taken the time to speak out against the line in a more serious manner. Royce Da 5’9” did just that at Complex today.

Troy Ave Calls Capital STEEZ "Dickhead" & "Bozo" Mar 1, 2016 at 05:01pm
Brooklyn emcee Troy Ave didn’t take too kindly to Joey Bada$$’ line in “Ready” that threw shade at his record sales, and he responded with a vicious diss track last night titled “Bad Ass.” It’s a pretty solid diss record, but Troy Ave has caught a ton of flack within the media for one line in particular: “STEEZ burning in Hell, my burner’s in my belt / I&rsquo

Earlier this Summer, Troy Ave released his long awaited debut album called Major Without A Deal, which unfortunately didn’t do too well on the charts as it only sold 4k copies in its first week. Since then, we really haven’t heard much from the Brooklyn rapper after he was slandered on social media for those weak album sales, but it now looks like he’s taking another stab at a new project.

The Top 10 Beefs Of 2015 (So Far) Jun 23, 2015 at 05:46pm
Last year, we examined the ever-changing definition of "beef" in hip hop, observing how inter-artist disputes have increasingly unfolded online and perhaps become more petty since the term was coined in the '90s. Troy Ave has been the topic of hot conversation on social media these past couple weeks thanks in part to his extremely low record sales and attitude towards it all. The 7 Most Ridiculous Claims Troy Ave Made During His Breakfast Club Interview Jun 17, 2015 at 02:27pm
During his interview on The Breakfast Club yesterday, Troy Ave was staunch in his claim that his music is strictly non-fiction: "I don't talk about nothing I don't got, I don't even be talking about Ferraris or Lamborghinis... I don't be fucking with shit like that." Evidently, though, this desire to keep it 100 at all times doesn't extend to his interviews.

Troy Ave's "Major Without A Deal" Sold Just Over 4,000 Copies Opening Week Jun 11, 2015 at 04:25pm
Yesterday we saw Lil Durk and Dom Kennedy's first week sales for Remember My Name and By Dom Kennedy respectively. Durk moved just over 25,000 while Dom did just under-- a lot of our commenters referenced either/or as a flop, but nonetheless they still charted on the Billboard 200. We cannot say that much for Troy Ave's debut, Major Without A Deal.
