Tree's "Treestyle" series continues today with a new one named after one of hip hop's most influential forces: "Afrika Bambaataa." This follows up his last one, "Platinum Chains," which arrived in the middle of May.
"Afrika Bambaataa" was produced by The Dutchmaster, who supplies MC Tree G with a spine-tingling, trappy instrumental to raggedly sing over. It's less than a minute and a half in length, but Tree makes it well worth our time with some heartfelt lyrics and indelible melodies. "I usually start with truth," he croons, "She made dinner for a nigga and we start with soup," and that should give you a good idea of the lyrical space he's in on this one.
