Today would have been Trayvon Martin's 24th birthday. The image of his face with a hood draped over his head has become a symbol in today's world. The young man's death sparked an important conversation in American history, signalling the start of the Black Lives Matter movement. While he is just one of many undeserving victims of police brutality, Trayvon stands out significantly. Who knows what he would have been able to accomplish before everything was taken away from him. As we remember Trayvon on his birthday, several other activists, actors, musicians and entertainers have taken to social media to pay their respects.

Common shared a photo of Martin on Twitter, wishing him a happy birthday. Omari Hardwick got pretty sentimental in his post, rewinding to when he paid tribute to the late Martin in 2013. During his reflection, Hardwick said that he's still paying tribute 7 years later and he won't let Trayvon's memory be taken away from him. Tracee Ellis Ross encouraged all her followers to keep Trayvon's name active "today and always."

Trayvon's memory will remain forever. His death changed many people's lives and we won't let him drift away. Join us in wishing a happy birthday to Trayvon Martin.
