If Trae Young lacks one attribute to round out his character, it isn't self belief, that much is certain. This past week Young was even mentioned by Puma as a potential brand ambassador for their planned foray into basketball. Where does that leave him come draft day? Most experts don't see him slipping below the lottery threshold, but if it were up him, he would be the first player off the board. Hear him out.

At the Draft Combine, Young was asked if he thought he was the 'best scorer' in the draft, his reply far exceeded the framework of the question: "I think I'm the best overall player in this draft. My main focus isn't necessarily to be the best player in this draft. My focus is to be the best player in the NBA. That's what I'm focusing on each and every day."

Trae Young told the panel he enjoyed the comparisons to Steph Curry, whom he shares a similar creative aspect to his game. Never the less he made certain to point out the qualities that make him a singular talent, like no other in the draft. He said  "I'm just trying to be the best version of Trae Young. That's all that matters to me." That's a good place to start.
