Tory Lanez's highly anticipated debut album I Told You finally hits shelves and online retailers on August 19th. The Interscope-signed rapper definitely took his time with it, but it appears to be working, as his fanbase and hype is at an all-time high. We've heard several leaks off I Told You thus far, and they all fall squarely within the r'n'b realm. The most recent was "Flex," and today's leak, "Cold Hard Love," is in a similar vein.
The complex production almost becomes the focus of this record. Tory's high-pitched vocals counter the pounding drums, whirring synths, and a deep-seated guitar arrangement. At over five minutes, the song goes through some changes-- the most interesting coming at the very end, where Tory unexpectedly drops a verse. We said "Flex" might be his strongest leak yet, but does this one take the cake?
August 19th. Pre-order the album on iTunes.
It might be time a n*gga owned up for shit I once did
Games that I once played, shit I once said
No one's turning back on me now
Don't turn your back on me now, I need you more than ever
You make me wanna put this TV off the sound
And put these covers over us, and take it slow forever
We go together, you so forever
