"Thrift Shop" singer Wanz pays tribute to Nate Dogg.
Nate Dogg sound-alike Wanz is best-known for singing the hook on Macklemore’s 2012 smash single “Thrift Shop." Here he pays tribute the the G-Funk Godfather himself with the video for "To: Nate Dogg." Warren G blesses the tribute by spitting the opening verse, after which lesser-known youngins Grynch and Crytical show up to lay down a verse.
The video features the four of them riding around Long Beach, with Wanz wearing a hat that reads "West Coast Regulators." At 53 years old, Wanz was actually born eight years before Nate Dogg, though based on this video he seems knows a thing or two about the funk. As he croons contemplatively on the chorus: "Let's smoke a little bit and drink a little bit, let's party in the spirit of the dog Nate Dogg."
