The Hip Hop Dating Map
The Hip Hop Dating Map Dec 5, 2016 at 11:21am
The law of six degrees of separation applies to the hip hop dating circuit -- a land where fast money, fast women, and horny men collide, resulting often in fireworks. As you can see in the dating map we have assembled below, there isn't much distance separating stars like Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, Future, Lil Wayne, & A$AP Rocky. Ray J even has his own dating wheel, which gives credence to Vince Staples' mind-blowing Theory of Ray J.
The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of November 2016
The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of November 2016 Nov 30, 2016 at 10:13am
Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now.  The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.
Tinashe's "Nightride" (Review)
Tinashe's "Nightride" (Review) Nov 12, 2016 at 06:26pm
Tinashe's Aquarius, released over two years ago, stands as one of the most inspiring debut albums of the past few years, and it did well to cement singer/songwriter's place as one of the most promising rising artists in R&B. As the album balanced the more left-field realms of R&B and clubby pop sounds with relative ease, it was a daring record that played with convention and experimentation in a rarely effective manner.

Tinashe has been keeping fans on their toes this past year as they patiently wait for her often-delayed sophomore album Joyride. But to hold them over in the meantime, the R&B singer decided to treat fans to a new project today called NIGHTRIDE, which she says will serve as a prelude to Joyride, dropping this Spring.

On Tuesday night, the California singer announced that she will be postponing the remainder of her tour dates in order to finish her sophomore album. Taking to Facebook a few hours ago, Tinashe made the following statement:

Perhaps trying to match Kim Kardashian’s nude selfie from last week, Amber Rose freed the nipple in a censored Instagram post (she shared an uncensored version of the photo on Twitter). Rita Ora also got in on the shirtless action, as she shared some scantily clad photos of herself during her shoot for a lingerie brand.
The 10 Best R&B/Rap Covers Of Classic Songs
The 10 Best R&B/Rap Covers Of Classic Songs Mar 18, 2016 at 04:22pm
Searching "rap covers" online is like walking into a minefield of acoustic guitars and webcams, leftovers from a war that began with Ben Folds' famous version of Dr. Dre's "Bitches Ain't Shit." An earnest-sounding white dude with a guitar and an angelic backing choir singing things like "Lick on these nuts and suck the dick" was (believe it or not) novel at some point, but now that approach has been beaten to death. Last year, for example, a ten year old covered "Trap Queen."

Lots of exciting stuff going down on Instagram this week. First off, we got an update on ALL of the upcoming TDE releases, and surprisingly, it was Kendrick's album that came through first (though it seems Q, Isaiah, Sza, and Soulo aren't far behind). We also got a brief update on Drake's Views From The 6 through a photo of Drizzy's creative partner, 40, stocking up with supplies to camp out in the studio (and to keep it Canadian, a Tim Horton's cup in hand).

It's about that time. With the weekend imminent, as well as the SuperBowl, you surely need a playlist that will soundtrack your every move. This week's playlist is ultra-modern, occupied almost exclusively by a new generation of artists-- Young Thug, Roy Wood$, Tinashe, Jazz Cartier, Belly and more (we'll just glide over 2 Chainz, he's a strange case in that he's old-but-new). There's a fair amount of trap-influenced records, before moving into more musically-inclined songs. Shout out Angus for exclusively picking Young Thug records.

Tinashe let Complex into her home for a feature about family, but her photo shoot is certainly not family first. It’s a fitting transition as the singer slowly makes her way toward stardom.
