Tinashe's first-week sales projections for her sophomore album Joyride have arrived. According to Hits Daily Double, the album is expected to sell between 15,000 and 20,000 equivalent album units upon launch, with 5,000 to 7,000 of that figure made up of traditional sales. Tinashe's debut album Aquarius debuted at No. 17 in 2014, selling over 18,000 copies. Her 2016 mixtape Nightride peaked at No. 89 on the Billboard 200. Official sales numbers for Joyride will be released through Billboard next week.

Tinashe recently performed her Joyride single "No Drama" on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, where she received a standing ovation. She was joined by Migos rapper Offset.

Joyride also features guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana, and Future. The album is available to stream across all major platforms.

Tinashe's sophomore effort has suffered many delays since it was first announced in 2015. In a recent interview with Billboard, the singer explained how the title track was briefly in Rihanna's possession after being slated for Joyride. Ultimately, Tinashe was able to secure the song as the second track on the LP. "I guess eventually she didn't use the song, and I was like, ‘I still want it! Can I have it back?'," she recalled asking Travis Scott, who co-wrote the song. "So I got it back, revamped it, took Travis off it, and now it’s a new day!”
