Since "About The Money," it's been clear that T.I. and Young Thug are a great team. So good, in fact, that they created a supergroup called Bankroll Mafia together. We may never get a follow-up project, but We Want Smoke, the new album from Hustle Gang reminds of the unique power of the two wildly different but highly complimentary Atlanta rappers. "That Bag" finds them matched with Young Dro and Trev Case. Dro supplies his usual guttural double time, a style that will never get old, while Trev supplies the melodic hook, ad-libbed magnificently by Thugger. Thug and Tip each have a verse of their own, with Thug adapting to his environment to deliver one of his most conventionally technical verses in a little while. T.I. is reliable as always, finding interesting ways to tweak his triplet flow.

In 2015, T.I. spoke of his creative connection with Thug in an interview for FADER. "Thugger is an incredible artist with impeccable vision and understanding for how he would like to present himself and his art to the world," he said. "He’s bound by no restrictions. He don’t care about a bar count. He don’t care about a hook or a beat section or a verse. He just goes. And I’ve learned that when I understand it or not, just let him go. And we find ourselves in a great place."

Tip spoke of the timing of the album in a sit-down with XXL. “We had to reassemble and restructure ourselves as a unit," he said. You know, we had to make several adjustments within the executive staff as well as the artist roster and now we feel confident in the collection of artists we have right now. We’re incredibly proud to present this new crop of artists,”

We Want Smoke also features contributions from B.o.B, Trae Tha Truth, London Jae, Peanut Da Don, and more. You can stream it in full here.

Quotable Lyrics:
Ain't got no braids
But still got them extensions
Extensions, extensions
Extensions, extensions
Ahead on the focal
Gon' handle their business
I'm triple OG and still in my 30s
Still in these streets and still riding dirty
