Air Max Day came and went (it was this past Saturday), and after Nike tallied the votes were tallied up for their “Vote Back” contest, the brand revealed the winner. As expected, the Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant dominated voting after a slow start out of the gate, and will be retro-ed next year on Air Max Day.
That’s a long time from now, so we’ll definitely be marking our calendars to remember. The Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant first released in 2006, at a time when runners were not en vogue at all. However, the shoe still sold out and quickly became one of the most sought after runners in a market that didn’t value them too highly. The fact that they never retro-ed only added to the shoe's hype.
The release date is March 26, 2017. No word on a price this early, but hopefully they won't jack up the price too much.
