The Kardashians dynasty will no longer be shutting down the app store with their apps or charging for subscriptions to their websites. In a statement, Kim said, “we’ve had an incredible experience connecting with all of you through our apps these past few years but have made the difficult decision to no longer continue updating in 2019. We truly hope you’ve enjoyed this journey as much as we have, and we look forward to what’s ahead.”

The decision comes a year after Kendall shut down hers, apparently because it was contributing to anxiety issues. The rest of the sisters have given no reason for shutting down their non-social media presence, but it likely means they have something new coming, like when an artist wipes their Instagram in anticipation of the promotion of a new album. Whatever the reason, it's definitely not money. Kim reportedly made $45.5 million solely "from her website, app, Kimoji emojis, and product endorsements."

The apps are, as CNN describes them, "effectively web TV channels" that charge a monthly subscription of three dollars, which seems obsolete, considering Instagram is the same thing, but for free, and the whole family already has a TV show.
