The Doppelgangaz's new EP Parts Unknown is goddamn excellent and it ends on a high note with "Jail Weight." Doppelgangaz underground status affords them room to explore the dusty corners of their prodigious lyrical ability ("cloak custom herbmade with the burst fade").
Dopp Gang (comprised of Matter Ov Fact and Ep) crafted a master beat here, a veritable soundscape, with kickdrum below, the looped crackle of a record player blades of grass blowing in the wind, and swirling wisps above, with Jim Jones as a sort of Mufasa in the clouds-type figure, always watching and providing words of wisdom ("Get your weight up, not your hate up").
